More School

Luke and his friend from pre-school Brendan.

Luke and his teacher Ms. Ruiz

Luke with Nick - a friend from the ward and in the same class.
Here are Olivia's pics from Luke's first day of school. Luke attends the afternoon kindergarten class and on the first day Olivia frantically calls me at 12:25 pm asking if I know where the sd card is for the camera. Unfortunatly, I didn't know, but to Olivia's credit she didn't freak out, but took Luke to school and then took these pictures after school was let out.
When I got home from work on Monday I asked him how school was, to which he replied, "It was sooooo easy!" So, I'm relieved, he should do well this year, (not that I was worried with his McNeil genes and amazing tutoring from Olivia). Anyway, Luke loves school and was very disappointed he has to miss his first Friday while we run down to Mexico, as Friday's are special treat days.

Ah, the infamous Olivia smile! He looks so big and grown up! I'm sure it was easy for him, considering he should probably be going into 5th grade--but oh well- it will be fun for him anyway!

I was laughing the whole time I viewed the pictures, as he has down pat the Olivia smile! I'm sure it was difficult having your Mom make you smile and look like you were tickeled when you just really want to run and have fun! I'm glad he likes it so far...and how is Noah handling being home alone for a couple of hours each day? I still can't believe he is that big!

Rick,
You are so impressive with this whole blog thing. I know that Luke will love kindergarten and thatit will be a good experience for him. Personally I think his smile is just fine. Afterall the apple doesn't fall far from the tree!

For any of you who may be wondering how my weight loss attempt is going...for now it isn't. I just don't have the strength to put down the food! I thought that telling eveyone would add some accountability, but so far all it has done is make me think (while eating) "I shouldn't be eating this!". Wish me so luck!

I will wish you luck, although you don't need to lose weight--I thought you guys were going out of town? When are you leaving?

SOOOOOOO EASY!!!! Oh man that kid is great. I'm sorry that Luke had to miss his first Friday, but remind him that he has to get his dental work done so he can be root canal buddies with Uncle Allen.

Olivia...thanks for the comments on my blog. I love getting comments! So...as far as my pictures go...I have a long way to go before my pictures are as good as I want them...but here are my secrets for now... I have the digital Rebel XTi and a really great lens that has great distance! I can shoot pics of my kids without them even knowing...which I think might be the secret because then the shots look more candid because they really are. I just practice taking pictures A LOT! I probably take about 75-100 pictures a day of just random things that my kids do. I guess I am making up for not having a nice camera all these other years that I have had kids. I love photography and am just trying to make it a more serious hobby. Taking pictures is just like everything else in life, I am finding...practice practice practice.

Holy cow! I can't believe he is so big! And of course school is easy for him--as Chelsea stated, he should probably be shooting for the 5th grade, but he'll enjoy it anyway!

I feel for him and his Mexican root canal, though, hopefully the process will be a little faster for him than me, as the nice ladies in the root canal office couldn't figure out how to remove the temporary CEMENT my dentist had put in my tooth to keep the infection from getting any worse. I'm sure he'll be happy to be able to eat food without the pain that comes along with it...good luck!

It looks like Luke has this school thing mastered! Nice Job!! I definately feel for you on the whole dental work stuff, no fun at all, but I guess it is worth it! Hope Mexico treated you good!
