1st day of School, (not the official version)

This is not the official version, but in order to avoid nasty comments I thought I should post a few pictures. A friend emailed these to us, so I have them at work. I'm sure Olivia will still be posting the official version later.

Rick, so unlike you to post a picture of hand holding. I love the pics. I bet you are just bawling your eyes out that your little boy went to school yesterday.

Well if Rick wasn't crying, I was! My baby boy off to school! Here's life -- you'd better hope you have had a HUGE impact on his life in these 5 short years, because now he begins to receive information from other sources than his parents and he has to place them in his values package according to what has been taught. I am so proud of my children and what they have taught their children. I know that you, Olivia, get exasperated with me giving you advice, however, it is a grandma's perogative to be kinder and gentler with your children than you are. You could really feel bad if I felt you weren't teaching them and I had to step in and be more of a disciplinarian than you are. Luke -- I hope you love school and make lots and lots of friends! You look so handsome and happy! Show them what smart is and the old Billie Sue cliche` -- "Study hard -- be a star!"

Luke, I can't believe that you are bog enough to go to school. I know that you are smart enough but when I see you in those pictures I just see a sweet baby boy that I once knew. Olivia and Rick, it is all down hill from this point. They will think that they know more than you and sometimes you wonder if you ever taught them anything right? I love you all and am so proud of what you have accomplished with Luke.

How exciting Luke! You look so big and grown up! Just a word to the wise--don't tell your teacher that you know more than she does and that she is confusing the class--She will just kick you out of her class and your dad will have to come and beg the teacher to let you back in. I know, you probably do know more than her, its a curse we are all blessed with. Just try your hardest to resist the urge to tell her that!
Rick--is the soduku purely for your own enjoyment--after all, it did take you an entire dance concert AND dinner to figure out your first puzzle! Sorry--that was rude and I do not want to put rude comments on people's blog since I, myself, have been offended at rude comments directed at me. Your blog looks amazing and I am just jealous that you know how to do so many things that I don't.

Chels, rude comments are welcome on this blog, I just think they're funny. And yes it is mostly for my enjoyment, but anyone else is welcome to do it as well. As Luke would say, my sudoko skills have improved a lot. Finished a very hard puzzle in less than 10 minutes. ha, take that stupid so-easy-a-caveman could do it geico commercial.

Billie Sue...that is exactly why I cry so much when I send my kids to school. I try to shelter them so much and raise them to do the right things and then I send them off to school to be ruined! I sent my 5 year old to school today Olivia...I have cried so much today that I don't think I have one more tear left. Hope he had fun!
