Mummy's boys

How is it that we can turn every holiday into a week long event? FHE crafts and treats, story time costume party, class parties, pumpkin carving, and of course trick-or-treating. I really don't mind because it is fun to see kids get so excited, but boy it can be exhausting to have so much fun! The boys decided they would go along with my request and be mummies this year, although it took some explaining to Noah that he was going to be a scary mummy not a grown-up (I think he got it confused with mommy and mummy). I thought it would be such a simple costume, but just try finding white sweat pants anywhere! I ended up sewing pajama pants out of white flannel (which is a post in and of it self) and buying a white sheet to rip into strips. They boys enjoyed the face paint the most, and I think they turned out so dang cute...I mean scary.

Two frighteningly cute boys.

"I want my mummy!"

Too cute to be scary.

Noah's cat, Luke's "scary jack", my ghost, and Rick's Frank.
Not too bad for regular old kitchen knives!

Luke hard at work.

Noah was VERY anxious to help with the knife!

Mummy's boys are so cute. I just can't seem to work up enough frustration to get mad at them, they are so cute and I feel sorry for them when they get disciplined. Perhaps they can be grandmummy's boys too! Take a look at the facial expression on the last picture and tell me where those mummy's boys get their determination. Actually if you would have taken a picture of Rick--it would have been the same--so they get a double whammie of determination! What -ev - they are soooo cute!

This is just a guess, but did Noah use a "very sharp knife" to carve his pumpkin?

THE BOYS LOOK AWESOME!!!!!!! Seriously, GREAT job on their costumes! I agree that they are too dang cute to be scary!! The face paint really topped things off well! They look fabulous!!
I like your pumpkins, too. I've always wondered how to carve using the patterns, you'll have to tell me when we finally talk.

Can't wait to see you... :) :)

I wanted to kiss those mummies instead of run from them BUT you know how Noah is with the kissing thing. You are such a great mom with all the festivities!

Great costumes! I wanted to make the twins' costumes, but I guess I wasn't as creative as you are!

I like the mummy idea, you did great! The boys look great. Now I have to think about next year...I'm all about dressing up the kids the way I want them to look until they SAY differently! I'm also loving your mom's comments up there...my kids too get a double whammy of how shall we put it...stubborness? We had a hard time with the results yesterday-especially since Brendan had the day off school (yeah on a tuesday...) But Guiliani said it best: Now we can all get back to being Americans. I guess that means we have to get behind our new president because if he fails then we all do. I loved the chance to teach him about politics it was so fun because he was so eager to learn. (and you know how frequently that opportunity comes around with a six year old!)

You did a great job on the costumes!! I always say I am going to come up with a hand made costume and I always end up buying something. I might have to steal you idea... However I would still have to buy the white pants:( Those cute boys make the costume though, they really are to cute to be scary!!

I'm amazed that you A) were able to convince your children they should be something for Halloween that you actually wanted and B) that you made such amazing costumes! I love them...they look GREAT!

Noah anxious to help with the knife?....No, I can't imagine :) Your pumpkins look great, good job with making the Halloween Holiday fun for your family. Love you all!
