Playing Hooky

Shh, I don't want this to get around, but today I am playing hooky.
Elijah has been sick with some sort of stomach bug this weekend, so I decided that I would be a responsible parent and NOT take him to the baby sitter's house today. Yeah, a day home from work! Even though it came at the expense of my sick baby, I get to spend the day home with my boys. I even let Luke in on the action. He has had a cough for a few days now and this morning when I said I was staying home he convinced me that he shouldn't go to school in case he coughed on someone and got them sick. Normally I would tell him to get ready for the bus, but not today. The fact that it has been SNOWING all morning has just made me feel like turning on the fireplace, staying in my sweats, and lounging around. So, that is what we have done.

Lounging on the couch reading books

Drinking hot chocolate with marshmallows.
(Yes, I know it is May 24th, but hot chocolate seems fitting for today!)

Having fun in the snow.
(Yep, snow deep enough to play in.)

Making the most of our CRAPPY Utah weather!

Should sick children be out in the snow? I mean really! Thats too bad that they're all, but sometimes a day at home in your pjs is great!

PS-I left Eli's birthday present at Moms, as well as those two white shirts I was talking about.

Olivia - your boys are so handsome. I love Luke's expression sipping hot chocolate.

You deserve a day off!

Oh and I AM coming to Utah this summer. I'll be in Oakley July 5-15. WE HAVE TO GET TOGETHER!!!!
who knows? maybe there will still be snow :)

I played hookie today too, unfortunately it was because I was sick...not as fun as having sick kids...not that you ever wish your kids to be sick, but they are fun that way when all they want are hugs and snuggles. :) What a great day for you! Hope everything is going well your way. We're going to be up that way in July too-perhaps a zoo day if you aren't working or want another day to play hookie?! I'll send more details in an email! Those boys of yours are hardly recognizable!

I will not complain for one more second about the snow I got today after seeing the amount you have!
WOW! That is just not right!

Hope the kids are better and the weather is better soon!

I can't believe how much it snowed! We haven't seen any snow since February. It sounds like you guys had a ton of fun playing hooky! I am tempted to keep my kids home everyday. I can't wait for summer so I can have them home again.

Wow! I can't believe all that snow!!! We were baking at the pool. I forget that other people actually have weather beyond hot or windy! lol
What a fun mom you are! It looks like you had an incredible day with your cute boys - and those are the days they'll look back on and remember. Good for you!!

Well, well, well! Here I thought you were all miserable and I was running over all sorts of oils to cure you! Not I find out you were really taking advantage of poor Eli's bad tummy and all having a funny fun-filled day! Good for you!

Yikes. Do I really want to move home to the snow?? I have been laying out for a couple months now...

I'm so glad you took a day off and spent it with the boys! They're getting so big and so fun. We can't wait to see you guys next week and make our plans to return full-time!
