Eli has finally arrived. We waited this morning for a call from the hospital to inform us we could come down, but by 8 a.m. no call had been recieved. Olivia called, and the hospital informed us that no beds were available (thats what you get in the baby capital of the world - provo) so we would have to wait until they called again. Around 10 a.m. they finally called and told us to come down. Olivia was started on drugs around 11 a.m. and miraculously progressed! Eli arrived, as can be seen below at 4 p.m. and weighed 7lbs. 13oz.
Congratulations to Lauren Cox for guessing almost exactly correct...I guess it helps to be a labor and delivery nurse. And the worst guess was Cassondra...a girl...really.

Are you even going to know what to do with a little tiny premie like that? Seriously, 7 lbs. 13 oz., he could have stayed in there another 3 or 4 weeks. Evan is very excited about his new cousin. Patrice and I even think that Eli and Evan look a little bit alike.

Congrats!!! We are glad everything went okay and you new little guy is here. We miss seeing your little family at church here in Vegas. Enjoy the cooler temps there because it is a blistering 100+ here. Congrats again!!!

But seriously, congrats guys! He is so adorable, and yet again, has a mystery look. I cannot wait to see him this weekend. The three boys are going to be such good little cousins!
Yeah!!!! I am so happy for you that Eli is finally here! And it sounds like your labor went super smooth, Olivia - how awesome!! Eli is really super cute! I couldn't believe the picture at only 2hrs old. My kids still looked squished up at 2 hrs and it took a day or two to recover but he looks darling already! He looks like he'll be a whole new mix of the two of you! I can't wait to see more pictures soon!

Olivia fooled both Billie Jo and me! We weren't even in any hurry to check out of Dodge (that being Woodland), as Olivia usually takes here own sweet time delivering. We left home around 1:15 or so then we stopped at Target to purchase a couple of new car seats for Tess and Mia (I'm glad I didn't have to buy all that stuff for my kids or I might have only had 3!!!). I had given Earl a suit for Father's Day that didn't fit just right, so I headed to the Mall to trade it in and Billie Jo had the kids were out on the grass under the trees eating milk shakes. She called and told me that Rick had called and said the baby would be here within the hour. By the time I walked out of the Mall and found them in the parking lot and we got all the kids loaded in their car seats and the melted shakes thrown away--Noah and Billie Jo cleaned up from the spilled shakes, we weren't even up to the 5th floor of the hospital when Rick called and told us Eli was here! He was born, cleaned up and in his mother's arms by the time we got to the room. He was hungry boy and crying loudly for some dinner! Olivia had to hurry and feed him to get him to quit crying! Luke and Noah love him and wanted to hold him immediately! Tess adores babies and gave all the motherly love she could to him, with Mia loving and admiring him as well. I don't think Aunt Billie Jo even got to hold him until after his official first bath and all the fussing they do in the nursery. He is definitely a beautiful boy, no matter who he looks like. Good work -- Rick and Olivia!

YEAH!!! Not to gloat or anything, but if you would have been started at the time you were supposed to I would have been even closer! That is ok though, you can drop the grand prize off at my house!!! ;)
I was working yesterday, and thought about you all day! I am so glad that everything went so well. He is beautiful, and we can't wait to meet him! Congrats you guys!
Well all I can say is that was one record breaking birth for Olivia. So even if he wasn't 9 or 10 pounds he broke all kinds of records for Olivia. I think he could have even pushed it for fastest birth but I am sure the one hour 20 minute hospital check in with Mia still holds the record. I was a pure joy to see such pure perfection when I did get to hold him for 30 seconds; so I don't think that you will have a problem with finding babysitters from this house. I would have to seriously reconsider the four children thing after yesterday. Not that they were bad-(excluding digging up my plants) it is just that I ran 100 mph and could not keep up. If it were to ever happen I think Ellie would have to be 16. Tess 12 and Mia 10 so that I could have a support team. SERIOUSLY!!! Congrats mom and dad you both did awesome!

Hey, June 18th is an AWESOME day to have a birthday! Congrats Olivia-you are finally done and I am sure loving it! I hope you are doing well- I'll try to call from the road tomorrow. Love from all of us...Brendan will be SO excited!
